Group Study Room Policy

Policies and Procedures
- Use of study rooms is limited to Central Michigan University affiliates.
- CMU ID cards are required at check-out and will be held until the key is returned.
- Reservations can be made at the Book Checkout Desk either in person or by telephone at 774-3114 up to one week in advance.
- Rooms are checked out for 2 hours. Renewals are permitted if available.
- Return keys immediately at the end of your reservation to the Book Checkout Desk.
- Overdue key fines are as follows: $1.00 for the first hour .25 cents for each additional hour. At two days overdue the key will be considered lost. Lost keys will result in a $50.00 replacement charge and a non-refundable $15.00 processing fee.
- Because the rooms are very popular your reservation request will be held for 15 minutes only.
- Room must be locked if you leave for a brief period of time during your reservation. The library is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
- The following activities are not allowed: painting, practicing music, partying, using tobacco, holding office hours, classes or activities that are disruptive.
- Drinks are permitted in spill proof containers only. Food is not allowed.
- Room layout should not be altered and extra furniture is not allowed.
- Upon leaving the room please remember to take all of your belongings with you. Pick up any trash and lock the door.
- Items left in study rooms will be taken to the Lost and Found located at the Book Checkout Desk.
- All rooms must be vacated and keys returned 15 minutes before the library closes.
MEDIATED GROUP STUDY ROOMS
Policies and procedures are the same as stated above, with the following addition:
- Charges for repairs will be assessed to the last known user, therefore report any damage immediately to the Book Checkout Desk staff on the 2nd floor.
